WalkMe vs. Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Which technology is better? Which should be your first stop for solving problems in your organization? 👇
At a high level, what do these technologies have in common?
Both are a way to improve business performance by optimizing processes.
You've got humans using software and the results are not what you want.
Too error-prone / slow / labor-intensive / expensive, etc.
It's not a question of which technology is better.
𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺, 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗣𝗔 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺.
For example, let's look at a process that is rote and repetitive.
Say we have a high volume of email-based transactions:
Communication with an attachment comes in
We open the attachment
We find certain values, approve / disapprove
Copy/paste those values into another system
Can you reasonably imagine computer code doing this?
It sounds like it can be made “Robotic” so is a candidate for RPA.
On the other hand, consider tasks where the human 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗧 be taken out of the loop:
Human initiated (update your benefits in the new HR system)
Human-to-human communication (call center)
Or there's a good degree of 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 involved...
Let's say our process only followed the "happy path" like 30% of the time.🤦
And the other 70% of the time, a human needs to get involved, analyze some data, toggle between multiple systems, etc...
Then it's a question of how can we best make this app (or process across apps) easy for a human to use.
Sounds like a candidate for a DAP like WalkMe.
𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗠𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗣𝗔 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗨𝗶𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝟮 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻.
They're not competitors, rather can be complementary in an organization.
Either way, let's look at what's going wrong in your processes.
If WalkMe seems to be a fit, let me know.
Does this make sense?
Does your org use WalkMe or RPA?
