Mistake #9: Planning For the Future – Not Standardizing Their Processes

Many newer WalkMe builders will receive a request to build something.  They build it, publish it, move on.

OK, but that’s not all there is to the DAP Professional role.

We need to think about the work holistically.

We need to abstract and get under control HOW we go about the work that we do.

You will have employee turnover.

Demand will increase.

You will be pushed to move faster.

You may have to outsource the building activity.

Your company may have some intricacies related to publishing.  QA / PROD?  Or are we only publishing to PROD but we use Segmentation for UAT?  Which flag do we remove?  Etc.

AND – If you have not documented the above, how do you even know what rules you’re breaking?

  • QA
  • Publishing
  • Insights Review
  • Write down the key points and screen record a brief demo of you going through it.
  • Share this with your team and especially any new WalkMe builders.

With these under control, there are more you’ll want to address.  But that’s a good start.

Next Steps:

I hope you found this helpful.

Do you currently see any of these in your organization?

Or does this make you think of anything you need to check on?

Any corrective actions to put in place?

Let’s talk about what’s going on and try to find the best way to address it:
